Babel's laboratory

The Ateneu Barcelonès initiates a new cycle to explore the relationship between language, culture and cognitive science

¿How do we name a color? We can distinguish between various types of 'green' and yet, all are called 'green'. In general, the colors are endless, but we have a small set of words to name them. Different cultures group colors differently and physiology also plays a role in these definitions.

This will be the starting point of the first talk of the series "Babel's laboratory" by Andrea Baronchelli (Northeastern University, Boston, USA) to be held on June 11 at 7.30 pm at the Oriol Bohigas room of Ateneu Barcelonès (Canuda 6, Barcelona). From the colors, we will explore the relationship between culture and physiology in the cognitive sciences.

Cycle organized in collaboration with the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication, coordinated and moderated by science journalist Michele Catanzaro, rapporteur of the science and technology section of the Barcelona Athenaeum.
