Barcelona Gallery Weekend

Art week

The 7th edition of the Barcelona Gallery Weekend will be held from September 15 to 19.

The Barcelona Gallery Weekend (BGW) is an annual event that offers a general programme of exhibitions at the different art galleries of the city in addition to a parallel programme with guided tours, talks, performances, presentations and other activities. BGW aims to reinforce and point out the richness of Barcelona's artistic fabric, promote art collecting and highlight the work of the galleries and their artists. These are some of the exhibits linked to the BGW: Indignades and It's Time to Go Back to Street at the ADN Gallery, El tiempo de las lombrices at the Joan Prats Gallery, Debut at the Valid Foto, Cut Outs Paintings and Julien Meert at the Alegría Gallery, YEE YEE at the Alzueta Gallery, Laberints i textures at the Artur Ramon Art and Entre Ramas at the Zielinsky Gallery. Check them out here.

The BGW will open simultaneously in all the participating galleries on September 15 at 5pm, and all artists will be there. Between September 15 and 19, there will be different activities connected to the exhibitions and galleries, such as a technical demonstration of embroidery at Chiquita Room and the activation of the sound installation Phantom Islands at Ana Mas Projects on Thursday, the 16th; a conversation about corporate collections and other models at the Audemars Piguet House on Friday, the 17th, and at the ARCO GalleryWalk on Saturday, the 18th and Sunday, the 19th. There will also be routes through different galleries across the city divided by neighbourhoods, including the Eixample, Gràcia and Sant Antoni/Ciutat Vella.

All activities and tours are free, though booking is required. You can do so following the instructions of each event, which you can check out on the BGW agenda.
