The body as an instrument, architecture and landscape
The cycle Cos de so del Mercat de les Flors brings together the artists Oscar Bueno, Park Keito and Anna Fontanet.
What is the relationship between sound and movement? If you've ever wondered, in this cycle a series of artists of movement will answer you from different perspectives and explore not only the things that produce sounds, but also those that are capable of creating architectures and even of suggesting a landscape to us.
As protagonists of all this, Oscar Bueno, who presented last weekend Apoyatura, studying the relationship between body and sound, but especially the company Park Keito, made up of Kotomi Nishiwaki and Miquel Casaponsa, who since 2017 have been creating shows based on movement, sound and visual arts. On 20 and 21 February they present Rolatei, a choreographic work that is as much performance as sound action. It is based on poems by Takahide Nishiwaki from Japan, which talk about the ephemeral nature of human beings and their relationship with nature.
In Rokatei, which means ‘the hut of six songs’, two characters move between different fictions and construct landscapes with their own things and the use of words. You will see them enter a hut that is a refuge, but which is also a vulnerable space. All of this is accompanied by a symbolism that is shown during the show, which talks about the cycle of life.
Come to the Mercat from 21 to 23 February and discover the work of Anna Fontanet (pictured), an artist who combines disciplines such as dance, graphic arts and digital sound arts in works that explore perception, memory and the fugacity of time. She presents N.A.N. Now ask nothing - nothing ask now, where each sound and each movement could be the chapter of an autobiography. She generates soundscapes in real time through dance and digital arts, creating sound spaces. The artist works in the present (now), and does so by questioning (ask) herself in order to trace a trajectory that has nothing as its origin and destination.
