Take a trip to Broadway with music from the OBC
The orchestra will play well-loved songs from the musicals to welcome in the Christmas season.
Christmas is a time with loads of traditions, and one that’s now on the rise is the concert played by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Catalonia (OBC) at L’Auditori with a repertoire made up of well-loved songs from the musicals. Conducted by Alfonso Casado, a young director from Seville who now lives in London, with Mariano Detry as the stage direction, the OBC will take the audience on a trip to Broadway. They’ll be playing tunes from My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, Gypsy, Annie Get Your Gun, Les Misérables and Camelot, as well as many others. South Pacific will have a special place in this soirée with music composed by Richard Rodgers since a range of songs from this musical will be used to open and close the concert.
The concert won’t just be instrumental. Soprano Laura Osnes and baritone Paulo Szot, as well as the Amics de la Unió Youth Choir and the Granollers Chamber Choir, will also be on the stage. You have two opportunities to see this show: 20 and 21 December.
