Café Quijano, in the Teatre Condal

Café Quijano first made their name in 1998 with their debut record, then immediately surpassed themselves the following year with La extraordinaria paradoja del Sonido Quijano, which achieved notable success on the basis of “La Lola”, a song that reached the number one spot on radio stations in more than thirty countries. The turn of the century was also a good moment for the band and their releases in 2001 and 2003 provided them with notable sales and hundreds of concerts, a number of them outside Spain. Once they reached this point, however, the Quijano brothers, Manuel, Óscar and Raúl, decided to take a break and concentrate on solo projects, some of which had little to do with the world of music.
 

Sooner or later, however, a return to the stage was inevitable, and this finally happened towards the end of 2010, resulting in the release of another record Orígenes: El bolero, in October, 2012. The title of the record could not be more eloquent, the bolero being the genre with which the Café Quijano grew up and eventually became musicians. All three brothers agree that this is their most personal album and the one for which they feel the most affinity, and the concert in the Teatre Condal on the 16th of May promises to be a reflection of this accumulation of sensations.
