Celtic pride with Dropkick Murphys in the Razzmatazz

Often abbreviated to DKM, Dropkick Murphys originated in the working class Irish district of South Boston. Active since the seemingly distant past of 1996, DKM have published a total of 8 records, establishing them as one of the most emblematic representations of what is known as Celtic punk, a blend of rock ‘n’ roll, hardcore and Irish folk, though they are always open to other influences and styles.

 

The career of the Boston band is definitively long-term, from the basement of a barber friend, where they rehearsed during the 90’s, to the soundtrack for the Martin Scorcese film The Departed, or the official version of the Red Sox anthem in the 1994 world series, which they ended up winning.

 

The Dropkick Murphys live shows are known both for their intensity and for their festive quality. Ideally, one should see them in one of the many shows in and around Boston during St. Patrick’s week, but it’s safe to say the concert in Razzmatazz won’t be a letdown in any sense of the word.
