Friendship above all

Chavalas, a film about the value of friendship and the journey of growing up, is premiering on September 3.

Marta, Desi, Soraya and Bea get back together after not seeing each other for many years. They were inseparable friends during their teenage time; at some point, though, even the strongest of connections change. The reunion forces them to confront their view of the past and, above all, the future they want for one other. The time they have spent apart has made them different people with fewer things in common, but the friendship they used to have prevailed, which, almost without realising it, will push them to help each other in the important decisions they have to make as grown-ups. Chavalas is a coming-of-age tragicomedy about the value of friendship at a vital moment – one of utmost importance for the future. The film will premier on Friday, September 3, in different theatres in the city.

Carol Rodríguez Colás, the director of Chavalas, has managed to put together a story with a strongly feminine point of view, complemented by the vision of scriptwriter Marina Rodríguez Colás and the four actresses who play the main characters – Vicky Luengo, Carolina Yuste, Isabel Casanovas and Ángela Cervantes. Ana Fernández, José Mota, Mario Zorrilla and Cristina Plazas complete the cast of Chavalas, which has won the Audience Award at this year's Málaga Film Festival.

You can watch Chavalas at Cinemes Girona, Renoir Floridablanca, Bosque Multicines and Yelmo Icaria. For screening times and ticket prices, visit each of the cinemas' websites.
