The three members of Lab Sons during a concert

Blues and soul among modern works

The tercet Lab Sons, formed by Anna Canals, Pep Cachazo and Toni Pedrol, will offer a concert of versions at the MEAM.

As part of the Friday's Blues series, organised by the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM), on the afternoon of Friday 16 June it will be the turn of the trio Lab Sons, a group formed by singer Anna Canals and guitarists Pep Cachazo and Toni Pedrol. The first chords will sound at 6 pm, and the ticket price includes a visit to the works in the MEAM's rooms, both before and after the concert.

Lab Sons' repertoire includes soul classics, as well as blues and American rock. The long experience of its three members on the music circuit, especially in blues venues in Barcelona, leads them to perform high quality versions, always respecting the original songs and their authors. Another of the trio's characteristics is the proximity they always show to the audience. The three define themselves as "passionate musicians deeply influenced by Afro-American music".

The Friday's Blues cycle is an opportunity to enjoy at the same time the contemporary figurative art of the MEAM and a concert, usually blues, but it is also possible to find soul, swing or jazz groups. Other performances in June will be by Marc Ferrer Trio (23rd) and Rey Pereira & David Giorcelli Dúo (30th), always at 6 pm. The former, with their own compositions and blues and jazz classics, while the latter promise an electrifying evening of blues and soul to close the month.
