Dance, electronic music and theatrics in ‘[Kórps]’

SAT! Sant Andreu Teatre is putting on this production by Miquel Barcelona, about violence, vigil and death.

Miquel Barcelona stands out for his multi-disciplinary skill, with experience in several fields of the performing arts, including dance and music. Now he is presenting his latest work, [Kórps], which he created, choreographed and directs. This show is a dialogue between contemporary dance and electronic music, singing, light and theatrics, bringing popular traditions to the stage. He has represented human practices surrounding violence, vigil and death, referencing the crow: the most omnipresent omnivorous, carrion-eating bird in mythology and the arts. Throughout history, this animal has been associated with the concept of death. It has been attributed the role of an intermediary between the earthly and spiritual worlds, represented in many different cultures. In fact, the title of the piece, [Kórps], plays with the homophones “corpse”, in English, and “corbs”, which means crows in Catalan.

You can enjoy this show on 27 and 28 September, Friday and Saturday, at 8:30 pm. It will be put on at SAT! Sant Andreu Teatre, by the playwright Miquel Barcelona and Helena Gispert, Martí Güell, Junyi Sun and Marc Vilajuana. The performance, which lasts one hour, was also performed at this year’s Fira Tàrrega.

Tickets for [Kórps] cost €15.50. You can get them on the SAT! Sant Andreu Teatre website.
