Dani Karavan in Barak Heymann's documentary

Dani Karavan's journey

This June's Docs del Mes brings you 'Dani Karavan,' a documentary by Barak Heymann.

"My art is political. Have you ever heard about Guernica?" is Dani Karavan's introductory phrase in front of the camera. Israeli director Barak Heymann, who has been directing and producing documentaries for 15 years, stars in the June Docs del Mes with Dani Karavan, a documentary that takes us on a journey through this charismatic and irreverent artist's life, who has transformed the public space with his creations. Through this initial conversation with the artist, the director shows us all of Karavan's sides. Behind Karavan's creativity, a 90-year-old man is fighting to create with the same passion of the first day. The documentary is a portrait filled with humor and sensibility about an artist capable of creating life in all the places he has worked.

The documentary will start screening on May 29th at the Aribau Multicines theatre. Then, at the Cinemes Girona (June 3rd), the Auditori de Sant Martí and the Civic Centre Ateneu Fort Pienc (June 17th), the Teatre de Sarrià (June 21st and June 30th), and the Casa Elizalde (June 22nd). Other venues, including the Esquerra de l'Eixample - Agustí Centelles Library and the Vilapicina i la Torre Llobeta Library, will offer the documentary online. You can also find the documentary online through Filmin from May 28th to May 30th.

Tickets for the screenings may vary from 3 to 8 euros, though most of them will be free. Check this link for more information on tickets and schedules.
