TNC Assembly Poster 'Decameró’

Decameronian Spirit to open up the TNC season

Narcís Comadira, Davide Carnevali, Cristina Morales and Dimitris Dimitriadis are some of the authors of the texts of  a choral show puts its focus new horizons.

The new season of the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC) will be inaugurated with a singular production, which will be performed in the Sala Petita between 1 and 25 October. It is titled Decameró, and the starting point is the film Il Decameron which, barely half a century ago, was premiered by Pier Paolo Pasolini, in the words of the TNC, a film with a spirit that "is a refuge from the most devastating turbulence so as not to be swept away by a disconcerting present". Behind the TNC's Decameron there are ten authors, Narcís Comadira, Davide Carnevali, Marta Marín-Dòmine, Dimitris Dimitriadis, Najat el Hachmi, Cristina Morales, Perejaume, Gregorio Luri, Lluïsa Cunillé and Valère Novarina, with texts directed by as many as ten other directors or managers and played by ten actors and actresses. Among the former we find names such as Marta Angelat, Ferran Dordal, Neus Suñé, Imma Colomer or Xavier Albertí, and among the performers who appear on the stage are Víctor Pi, Lina Lambert, Oriol Genís, Adriana Fuertes or Pepo Blasco.

This choral work is recommended for 16-year-olds and the TNC hopes that "in its plurality we will be able to FIND several points of light that will help to guide us in facing all the new horizons that we have just begun to glimpse". Those of you who are going on Friday October 9th should know that once the show is over, a meeting about the montage.
