'Born de nit 2021': a deep dive into the Born district

The Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria is offering tours and itineraries for the summer season.

This summer, with 'Born de nit 2021', Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria is inviting you to discover the best of the Born neighbourhood. The program, which will run until September, brings you a broad offer of nighttime tours and itineraries for a deep dive into the 1700s Barcelona. You’ll discover the families that lived in El Born and learn about the evolution of education throughout the 20th century. During July and August, you can go on the following tours: every Wednesday, Crònica negra al Born, a guided itinerary through the darkest Barcelona of the 18th century; on Thursdays, La ciutat del Born en 7 històries, for the stories of seven families who lived in the neighbourhood; on Fridays, Rec, Rivera, Born. Una ruta pel 1700, about the changes the city has gone through from the late Middle Ages to modern times. Moreover, every Thursday throughout July and August, there’s a guided tour through the exhibit Per una educació en llibertat.

Some other tours will take place on selected dates. For example: Memòries invisibles (10/07 and 14/08), a route through some of the centenary schools of Ciutat Vella; La finestra indiscreta. Els veïns i les veïnes del 1700 (17/08 and 28/08); El Rec Comtal. Com l'aigua dibuixa la ciutat (24/07 and 04/09); Façanes que parlen de ciutat (31/07 and 21/08); Les veus silenciades. Les dones del 1700 (07/08 and 18/09) or La batalla de l'11 de setembre del 1714 (11/09).
