Discovering Miró through artistic practice
This family visit to Joan Miró Foundation is inspired by the book The Long Journey of Joan Miró, an illustrated biography that reviews the artist's life and artistic career.
A Journey with Joan Miró is a dynamic visit with artistic practice aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 12, inviting them to discover and enjoy the work of this artist. It all starts with the biography of Miró, who was a child whose attention was always drawn to art and nature. From this point on, and through dialogue and drawing, this visit accompanies us through the biography of this child who ended up being one of the best known and most valued artists in the world.
This activity is inspired by the book The Long Journey of Joan Miró, written by Gemma Gallardo and illustrated by Marta Altés, a biography of Miró specially designed to introduce the artist to children "with a close record and everyday elements that allow them to identify with the artist and the universe that his work evokes".
Those responsible for this activity are well aware that there is no better way to learn than through meaningful learning, which is why the activity also includes an artistic practice, so that the children approach the teacher also with pencil and paper.
This activity lasts approximately one hour and 15 minutes and takes place in the rooms of the Joan Miró Collection and the Espai Taller. This activity can be done in Catalan (2 and 19 July, 2, 16 and 27 August, and 10 September, at 11 am) and in Spanish (5, 16 and 30 July, 13 and 30 August, at 11 am). Buy your tickets in advance here.
