The documentary of the month: ‘That which does not kill’

This Docs del Mes is a piece by director Alexe Pukine about rape which flees female victimisation.

This January, a new Docs del Mes arrives from Docs Barcelona: it's That which does not kill a powerful film that focuses on rapes in trusting environments but avoids the victimisation of the woman. That which does not kill tells the story of Ada, a 19-year-old girl who is raped three times a week by the same man, a man she thought she knew well. The story is made up of the voices of different women narrating their experience, how they felt before, during and after the events, thus creating a unique story through those of many different women. The director of the documentary, Alexe Pukine, brings us a choral story that goes far beyond portraying the woman as a victim and explains how the rapist is not always a stranger waiting in the corner.

The Docs del Mes will be screened this January at Cinemes Girona on Tuesday 12, at the Centro Cívico Ateneu Fort Pienc on Thursday 14, at the Biblioteca de Vilapicina i la Torre Llobeta and at the Casa Elizalde on Tuesday 19 and at the Auditori de Sant Martí on Thursday 21. In addition, on Monday 18 there will be an online session so you can enjoy it from home.

Through the Docs Barcelona website, you can check the times and prices of each session, as well as reserve your tickets. In addition, you can now see the program for February and March.
