The actress, who was recently awarded the Premi Gaudí de Honor for her career, presents her memoirs on 27 February at La Casa del Llibre in Rambla Catalunya

El record és un pont al passat is the title of the memoirs of the actress, woman and child Montserrat Carulla. It records the experiences of someone who numbers among the most cherished Catalan actresses, feted by critics, colleagues and members of the public alike. Carulla recounts her childhood during the Civil War and the post-war era, her first steps in the theatre – the acquaintances she forged with some of the most emblematic figures of Catalan culture such as Josep Maria de Sagarra and the poet Pere Quart –problems with the language and so on.
 
These are not only the memoirs of an actress looking to the past but also the living story of a country. Carulla is an actress who for decades has stirred the hearts of thousands of spectators on both stage and screen, working with such prominent film directors as Vicente Aranda, Josep Maria Forn, Mario Camus and Ventura Pons, while she has also become a familiar sight to television viewers at home.
 
Published by Ara Llibres, the book comes out as Carulla is awarded the 2013 Premio Gaudí de Honor by the Acadèmia del Cinema Català for “her extensive and prolific career devoted to performance and her commitment to the profession and society.
