From October 21 to 24, the Festival de Creació Contemporània Escena Poblenou is defending diverse artistic languages committed to society.
20 shows to celebrate the 20 years of the Festival de Creació Contemporània Escena Poblenou, including finished proposals as well as some that are still in their creation process or their early stages. The festival, which will take place on October 21 and 24, has scheduled contemporary stage projects from different disciplines and is committed to the city and the current social reality, especially with a strong presence of female creators. This year, you will find five shows in the programme created and directed by women: # Juana Dolores # 'massa diva per a un moviment assembleari' by Juana Dolores; Reverb by Cecilia Colacrai; It's a real co-incidence by Gráinne O'Carrol and Sophie Kasser; Vermut a Venus by las Sistars and Marta Camuffi; and Likes by Nuria Guiu. Some of them are also participating in the project Dones: pell, cos i paraula, a space where the Escena Poblenou invites committed women to talk about their experiences.
In addition, to celebrate the 20 years of the festival, Escena Poblenou wants to get closer to Generation Z – a cohort that includes many who are in their early twenties and who have been invited to be part of the Embrions project commission, which accompanies the creative process and gives visibility to projects in a state of gestation. You can see, for example, Reverb by Cecilia Colacral, Sfumato (Assajant per la caiguda dels contorns) by the company Llum de Fideu and Teatre de paper by the company Rauxa. Moreover, there will also be talks and conferences such as How do we want the imminent future to be?, the workshop Laboratory of the impossible by deSHACKERS and the QR code circuit by Dreamwalker.
