‘Monet’

IDEAL, new space for digital arts

It will be inaugurated with an immersive exhibition called “Monet”, which takes visitors into the painter's work through virtual reality.

Audiovisual is one of the fastest changing sectors. This means that many new types of technology aren't affordable to the general public when they first come out. A series of producers have pooled resources to inaugurate one of the most innovative spaces in the city of Barcelona: IDEAL. The name pays tribute to Cine Ideal in Poblenou, inaugurated in 1917, which formerly occupied the space. It will feature experiences for all audiences, as well as specialised training activities. The 2,000 m2 of space will be used to exhibit, produce and offer training in immersive digital arts. Plus, there will be an area for resident artists, as IDEAL will also act as an incubator for local talent. It is, in short, the first centre in southern Europe to focus on these disciplines. The first exhibition will be “Monet”, an immersive experience featuring large-format projections and virtual reality rooms. This way, you can learn all the secrets of Claude Monet's legacy and his particular technique, as well as the places he painted.

The exhibition “Monet” will be on from 25 October to 26 April, Monday to Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm, except on Tuesdays when the centre is closed. This show will kick off IDEAL, an unprecedented space in our city that will surely bring us loads of very interesting, innovative experiences.

The tickets cost from €9 to €16.50, depending on the day. You can get your tickets for the exhibition on the IDEAL website.
