Open weekend at Museu del Disseny to celebrate its 5th anniversary

You can visit all of the permanent exhibitions free of charge. “From the World to the Museum”, “Extraordinary!”, “Dressing the Body” and “Do You Work or Design?”.

On Friday, 13 December, Museu del Disseny will be celebrating its 5th anniversary and, of course, they want to celebrate with all Barcelona residents. That’s why they've organised an open weekend so that everyone can come along and visit the exhibitions free of charge. As of now the museum, which has really cemented its positions as one of the most important cultural institutions in the city, has four permanent displays, all of which will be open to celebrate half a decade in operation. These are “From the Museum to the World. Product Design and Cultural Heritage”, “Extraordinary! Collections of Decorative and Author-Centred Art (3rd to 20th Centuries)”, “Dressing the Body. Silhouettes and Fashion (1550-2015)” and “Do You Work or Design? New Visual Communication. 1980-2003”. What’s more, the temporary exhibition “Victor Papanek: The Politics of Design” will also be open to visitors free of charge. To round off your weekend, you could sign up for one of the theatrical tours for families that will be running on Saturday and Sunday. To take part, you need to sign up at the information desk in the museum.

Celebrations for the 5th anniversary of Museu del Disseny will be held on 13, 14 and 15 December between the usual opening times of 10 am and 8 pm. Also, if you're a real design lover, you can purchase the books published by the Museum with a special discount in honour of the occasion.

As we said, anyone can enter free of charge. You can find all of the information on the Museu de Disseny website.
