Escena Poblenou's creative commitment
This October is the 19th edition of the Escena Poblenou Festival which, this year, supports creation and projects run by women.
Once again, the Escena Poblenou Contemporary Creation Festival is coming up, to be held from the 22nd to the 25th of October, and this year it will be structured around three pillars: creation, creative women and public space. This is how the programme has been planned, with 80% of the shows being directed by women. Ada Vilaró, the artistic director of this festival, says that attention has also been paid to the public space due to the situation of uncertainty and new normality that the pandemic has brought to theatre and culture halls. To claim this, projects such as the travelling show Un evento público by the artist Núria Güell, Homenaje de Silvia Capell or the circus tent by the contemporary clown company Pau Palaus stand out.
From the pillar of creative women, the shows Trilogia de Naxos, directed by Brigitte Vasallo, Cabaret Punk, by María Stoyanova, Fent Cua, by Joana Serra Forasté and Ursa Sekirnik and Fruit estrany, by the company Les Estampades, stand out from the programme. In terms of support for creation, this year the festival is once again presenting the 'Embrions' project with different shows that are in their initial stages and accompany them in the creative process.
The prices of each show are indicated in the programme schedule, which can be free or not, with a maximum cost of 14 euros. Here you will find more information about the ticket sale points.
