The application period for the 2022 Convocatòria General de Subvencions is now open

The Institut de Cultura will hold an informative session on 12 January to explain the main changes and procedures to follow for submission.

From 7 to 27 January, the application period for grants corresponding to the 2022 Barcelona City Council's Convocatòria General de Subvencions will be open. They are intended for district and city projects, activities and services to be started and completed within the year covered by the call – i.e., between 1 January and 31 December 2022. Both natural and legal persons are obliged to submit applications and/or documents relating to the Convocatòria General de Subvencions electronically. To make the process easier, the digital identification options have been extended and now support systems such as IdCAT Mobile or Cl@ve PIN. 

Grant applicants can be legal entities or individuals that carry out the activity for which the grant is intended, with the particularities specified in point 15 of the "Specific requirements and assessment criteria" of this call for proposals, depending on the thematic area for which they are applying. 

The call for proposals includes nearly a hundred lines of aid in areas such as culture, sport, education, care and participation. The projects that are eligible for subsidies in the cultural field, managed by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), are classified into two thematic areas comprising 17 programmes: 14 Culture programmes and three Education and Culture programmes. They are as follows: 

Area A: Culture 

a. Visual Arts and Digital Culture 

b. Performing Arts 

c. Cinema and Audiovisuals and Movie theatres 

d. Music 

e. Entities and platforms of professionals of Culture and the Arts 

f. Interdisciplinary projects, cultural debate and thought projects 

g. Popular culture 

h. Community artistic creation 

i. Literature, bookshops and promotion of reading 

j. Theatres 

k. Music halls 

l. Creative spaces 

m. Historical memory 

n. Design, Architecture and Urban Art 

Area C: Education and Culture 

a. Practice and learning of artistic competences 

b. Promotion processes of artistic creation in educational contexts 

c. Promotion and dissemination, research and knowledge 

The Area A call is endowed with €4,385,136; the Area C call with €494,500. 

The ICUB will hold an informative session to explain the main changes of the call and the procedures to follow to submit the applications. It will be on 12 January at 11 a.m., and attendees are required to register in advance via this link. Only one person per entity can register. The acceptance of the registration will be carried out in order of receipt and will be open until full capacity is reached. Registration will close on 10 January at 11.59 p.m.
