Puig i Cadafalch

A guided tour around the façades of Puig i Cadafalch

The tour calls in at the main buildings designed by the Catalan modernist architect, including Casa Amatller and Casa de les Punxes

2017 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Josep Puig i Cadafalch, a major architect of the Catalan modernist period, as well as a politician and an art historian. And in a year brimming with tributes, commemorations and cultural activities that aim to introduce the public to the legacy of this brilliant figure, the next one in the calendar is a tour of the major façades designed by Puig i Cadafalch in the Eixample.

The route, which lasts for three hours, begins at Casa Amatller, at number 41 Passeig de Gràcia, where Puig i Cadafalch competed with his greatest rival, Antoni Gaudí, who built his Casa Batlló right next door. The tour then calls in at important buildings like Casa Serra, Palau Baró de Quadras, Casa de les Punxes and Palau Macaya, which are all located in the Eixample. The price of the tour includes a discount for visiting Palau Baró de Quadras and Casa Amatller, while Casa de les Punxes will invite the participants to free vermouth.

Additional information is available on the Any Puig i Cadafalch website. You can reserve a place on the Cases Singulars website.
