Música Impressionista

Immersive impressionist music at Ideal

4 recitals with piano, voice, saxophone, harp, violins and electronic music taking centre stage within an immersive setting in this new space in Poblenou.

Not long ago, the legendary Ideal cinema reopened after a complete refurbishment to become a space that’s completely dedicated to immersive experiences, Centre d’Arts Digitals Ideal. Over the last months, a lot of curiosity has arisen thanks to the “Monet” exhibition, where visitors can step into the painter’s works. This space will now play host to the “Música impressionista” cycle, concerts performed by artists that have taken an in-depth look into the links between music and visual arts. This is, after all, a connection between this period of art history and elements and soundscapes from the 21st Century.

In total, there will be 4 concerts with different soundscapes to give you the chance to enjoy very different experiences. The first was on 28 November, and was on impressionism, accompanied by a harp melody. The second performance, ‘Satie electrònic’ will be on 12 December. This is the exclusive debut of a show that brings together Erik Satie’s piano music with electronic and other sound elements, all performed by Rafael Plana and Dani Tejedor. Concerts will continue in 2020 on 30 January with ‘Impressionisme i Modernisme’, where Mireia Tarragó and Marina Pelfort will play pieces by Debussy, Wolf, Falla and Casals. The cycle will finally wind up on 13 February with a performance of Fuzzy Duo, by the duet of Melanie Larsson and Asami Pacual, including jazz and samba pieces by Ravel, Milhaud, Fauré, Debussy, Saint-Saëns and Decruck. All the concerts will start at 10 pm at Ideal.

Tickets for each activity in the cycle will cost €18. You can get them on the Ideal website.
