IT Dansa

Three energetic performances from the dancers at IT Dansa

An exciting programme directed by Catherine Allard featuring ‘Kaash’, ‘The Prom’ and ‘Whim Fractured Fairytale’ at the Liceu.

IT Dansa (Jove Companyia de l’Institut del Teatre) was founded in 1996 as a platform for the school's graduates to do work experience in the professional arena after finishing their studies. The company is led by Catherine Allard, who trained as a dancer at the Nederlands Dans Theater and the Spanish National Dance Company. This brings great prestige to the group, ensuring all the choreographies performed are top notch. If you would like to see them, you're in luck: they will be performing three choreographies at Gran Teatre del Liceu on two nights. Firstly, Kaash is pure dance, performed to mainly tribal percussion, that transports us to a wild, energetic India. We will also be able to see The Prom, a reflection in dance on how tiny actions can change our lives and, in the end, make us what we are or want to be. Finally, Whim Fractured Fairytale is a piece on how to stay sane even when we are on the brink of madness inside. It is, in short, a collection of situations inspired by real life on a journey through human emotions.

The choreographies, created respectively by Akram Khan, Lorena Nogal and Alexander Ekman, can be seen on 19 and 25 May, at 11 am and noon, respectively, at Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Tickets cost between €10 and €15, depending on the seat. You can get them on the Liceu website.
