Jazz in Sant Andreu
The streets and squares of the neighbourhood will be filled with the music of Joan Chamorro, Ignasi Terraza, Andrea Motis and Fredrik Norén, among others.
The neighbourhood of Sant Andreu is ready to begin another edition of Jazzing, the fourth in a yearly festival that brings the rhythms of jazz and swing to a number of locations in the area, including figures of some standing in the jazz world. The core of the programme is scheduled to take place from 28 September to 1 October, though the official presentation will be on Thursday 21 September, complete with a parade featuring theSant Andreu Jazz Band: On the afternoon of the same day, the Víctor de Diego Organ Trio and the David Mengual Resolut Trio will be playing at Bar Versalles.
As well as concerts, the festival includes master classes, record presentations and swing dancing sessions. One of the star concerts will feature SAT! the Sant Andreu Jazz Band accompanied by Perico Sambeat, Christoph Mallinger, Joe Magnarelli and Fredrik Norén at 8.30pm on 28 September. Two days later, Fabra i Coats will host the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of Swit Records, with performances by Ignasi Terraza, Marc Martín Trio and the Guillem Arnedo Band & Celeste Alías. On 1 October, the music will start at 11am in Plaça de Masadas, while Andrea Motis, Joan Chamorro Quartet and other performers will be the stars of the closing concert of the festival which will take place at Fabra i Coats.
