Opera from the Gran Teatre del Liceu to your living room
Enjoy some of the most emblematic operas on your screen.
When people go to see an opera, they usually dress up, even if some TV presenters invite you to watch it wearing jeans... However, the lockdown has caused habits to change and you can now watch great operas comfortably dressed in loungewear or even in your pyjamas. Obviously without leaving your home and watching the performance on a screen. Like all opera houses, the Gran Teatre del Liceu has had to stop its programme and it makes a series of opera performances available to everyone so that enthusiasts can enjoy watching them at home and make the lockdown easier to bear. Other institutions will also join in the initiative, called #TheLiceuAtHome Thus, for example, thanks to collaborating with the Teatro Real, operas that include Norma, Rigoletto, Aida, Madame Butterfly and Un ballo in Maschera are already available free of charge on the digital platform, My Opera Player. You only need to register on www.myoperaplayer.com and enter the code 'OperaEnCasa'. The offer will be increased in the next few days.
Furthermore, in collaboration with the European ARTE channel, you can watch the production online of Puccini’s Turandot, which opened this year’s season at the Liceu. And TV3 a la carta is going to offer the first opera by Benet Casablancas, composed to a text by Rafael Argullol, L’enigma di Lea, which premiered in the Gran Teatre del Liceu just over a year ago.
