‘Los Miércoles del Copista’ at the Museu Picasso Barcelona

Copying Picasso

The Museu Picasso opens its doors on Wednesdays and provides you with the temporary exhibition area to draw by copying the artist.

Copying the artists who inspire us is one of the best techniques for practicing drawing. Wednesdays at the Museu Picasso became, since the end of December 2020, ‘Los Miércoles del Copista’, where the rooms of the museum’s temporary exhibition become a space for you to draw whatever you want. On Wednesday afternoons, from 4 pm to 7 pm, you can come in for free, choose the place you like best and start drawing surrounded by the sketches from the ‘Picasso. The sketchbooks’ exhibition. In addition, you can visit this exhibition until April 4 during the centre's regular opening hours.

It is important to remember to bring your own material: a sketchbook no bigger than A3 and the drawing tools you need, which can only be for dry technique. In addition, for reasons of compliance with security measures, the museum reserves the right to modify the spaces available for drawing. You can do this unique visit until Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Although admission is free, capacity is limited and, therefore, the museum recommends that you make a reservation in advance, which you can do by sending an email to museupicasso_reserves@bcn.cat.
