Filling the network of memories linked to the Liceu

The theater is launching the # MomentsLiceu20 initiative, which involves both artists and spectators.

The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has ended the season in which the Gran Teatre del Liceu was to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of its reopening. But only partially, because thanks to the virtual world the emblematic space continues to bring music to homes and stays in touch with the public. One of the initiatives it has launched is called #MomentsLiceu20, and its main objective is to fill the network of musical memories linked to the last two decades of the Rambla opera house.

To achieve this, the permanent musicians of the Liceu have been involved, sharing videos recorded at home with the interpretation of musical moments that have marked them. Videos of the Orchestra and Choir playing excerpts can now be viewed. Also taking part in the initiative are artistic director Victor Garcia de Gomar, musical director Josep Pons and choir director Conxita Garcia. But the theater also asks for the participation of spectators, proposing that they let them know what their memorable musical moments are, quoting it on social media with the hashtag #MomentsLiceu20, and the theater itself will be responsible for selecting some of memories and accompany them with music and video.

You can view the videos here.
