“Monty Python Live (mostly)”, in Barcelona cinemas

On the 20th of July a number of Barcelona cinemas will host live screenings of the swan-song of the illustrious group of comedians

On Sunday the 20th of July as many as 1500 cinemas worldwide will host live screenings of Monty Python Live (mostly), in which the renowned group of British comedians get together for the last time to say goodbye to their fans. A final opportunity, then, to once again witness a selection of Monty Python’s most famous gags, updated sketches and a few new surprises.

Barcelona is only too pleased to join in the heartfelt celebration and Sunday’s performance will be transmitted live from the O2 Arena in London to seven cinemas around the city: Arenas de Barcelona, Bosque Multicines, Cinesa Diagonal, Cinesa Diagonal Mar, Cinesa Heron City, Yelmo Icaria and Cinemes Girona. Screening will commence at 8 pm in original version with Spanish subtitles.

Monty Python made their TV debut with Monty Python’s Flying Circus, a 45-episode comedy series spread over four seasons and broadcast by the BBC between 1969 and 1974. The series was an instant success and soon became a hallmark for British comedy. Their success then continued with such emblematic films as Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life.

Tickets for the return of John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin on the 20th of July may be purchased beforehand by following this link or on the websites of participating cinemas. In addition to the live screening, reruns have been programmed for the 23rd and 24th of July and the 6th of August.
