‘Sarajevo: State in Time’

The union of music and cinema

The latest screenings of musical documentary films arrive at the Barcelona Districte Cultural.

Sarajevo: State in Time tells the story of Laibach, a Slovenian band that travelled to Sarajevo during the siege of the city in the 1990s, in the midst of the Bosnian war. They went there to give a concert that ended up being a political act rather than a musical act. This is one of the last musical documentaries you can watch in the Barcelona Districte Cultural, in a session that will take place at the La Sedeta Civic Centre on April 20. The selection of musical documentary films made for this edition of the Barcelona Districte Cultural is organised in collaboration with the In-Edit festival and brings you exciting stories from the darkest territories of the international music scene.

El Niño de Elche, a.k.a. Francisco Contreras Molina, is the protagonist of the documentary Niños somos todos which has its next session on Thursday 22 at the Albareda Cultural Centre. He narrates his journey, without script or expectations, to Bolivia, a country of contrasts, a country he wants to listen to. Registrations can be made from the April 19. On the same screen, on Thursday 29 you can watch Octavas, a documentary that analyses the song 80 años by the singer and composer Antonio Arco, who literally talks about the spirit of carpe diem and to make a good use of the time.

Registrations are free and you can do so through each link. For more information, see the schedule.
