Musical Residencies Programme

More young talent at the Musical Residencies of La Pedrera

This year the chosen musicians are Albert Cano Smit, Miquel Ramos, Víctor Jiménez Diaz and Raquel García-Tomás.

Every year, the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera opens up a call for applications for its Musical Residencies Programme with the goal of supporting and promoting the careers of young and extraordinarily talented musicians. The winners of the eighth edition have now been announced, and they will hold a total of nine concerts in the building by Antoni Gaudí. This year, three in the field of performance were chosen, along with one composer, following in the new direction taken last year. You’ll thus have the chance to see Albert Cano Smit, a young pianist with an incredible international career, Miquel Ramos, a renowned clarinettist, and Víctor Jiménez Diaz, a countertenor with extensive international experience. They will all hold individual concerts or will be accompanied by another musician or ensemble, with a repertoire that they themselves have chosen. Furthermore, one of the performances by each artist will be composed by the fourth artist in residence, the composer Raquel García-Tomás. Therefore, these works will be original commissions that will premiere within this concert series.

The concert season will be from September to May, the third Sunday of every month except in January, when it will be the second. All the performances will be held at 6 pm in the auditorium of La Pedrera. More than twenty residents have taken advantage of this programme to carve a name for themselves in the classical music circuit, and many of them are still garnering international fame. For this reason, it’s a great place to discover new talents who are sure to make a name for themselves in the not-too-distant future.

All the concerts cost €13. You can buy your tickets on the Casa Milà website.
