Clara Peya, Miquel Abras, Pavvla and Obeses, among the artists at Músiques Sensibles

This festival is known for associating culture with social commitment and responsibility.

Everything is set for a new edition of Músiques Sensibles festival, an event which is being held at the Palau de la Música Catalana - Petit Palau. In the six editions held to date, it has supported around 30 social projects with the money raised from ticket sales. Indeed, the unique feature of Músiques Sensibles is its social commitment and responsibility, with sensibility as the common denominator of everyone participating in it. Given the current economic crisis, say the organisers, 10% of the money raised is earmarked to different non-profit entities.

The hip-hop by the Chilean Ana Tijoux was supposed to open the festival on 4 October, but this concert has been postponed until 19 November. So the saxophonist and vocalist Eva Fernández and the singer Paula Grande will be in charge of breaking the ice with their performance on 11 October. Four days later, the stage will be occupied by Sau30, the project that has reunited the musicians from Sau, led by Pep Sala, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of this band from Osona. That same night there will be another performance, this one by Miquel Abras, a singer from La Bisbal d'Empordà who released two records within 24 hours in 2018. And only three days will go by before the next event, which is also a double feature: first Pavvla, the stage name of the actress and singer Paula Jornet, who will perform tunes from her second record (and probably a few from her first) at the Palau de la Música, but before her Cesc will take to the stage, an artist who is beginning to carve a name for himself on the Spanish pop-folk scene after his debut on stage last March. On 19 October, the featured artist is Clara Peya, a pianist and composer who is garnering constant praise from critics and audiences with her original music. And there are three more concerts as part of Músiques Sensibles 2019: Rafa Pons (25 October), Obeses and El Cor d'Obeses (13 December) and Xiula (15 December).
