The nostalgic sounds of Kevin Kaarl fill Razzmatazz with folk
The young Mexican musician, a gem from the indie scene, brings the tracks from his latest album to Poblenou, Paris Texas.
A young artist from northern Mexico has made a name for himself with a modern use of folk, but also pop and rock, which he infuses with romance and nostalgia. Have you heard of Kevin Kaarl? Well, he's waiting for you on Sunday the 3rd of September, at Razzmatazz.
The artist, born in Chihuahua, began to make his songs known (Old Love, from 2018, was the first) through online platforms and, in 2019, he released a debut album, Hasta el fin del Mundo (Until the End of the World), which included songs that were big hits, such as Si supieras and Vámonos a Marte (If You Knew and Let's Go to Mars). He performs accompanied by Bryan Kaarl, his twin brother, who plays the trumpet and also provides the second voice.
In 2022, the artist released Paris Texas, an album that indeed pays tribute to the eponymous film by Wim Wenders, he incorporates elements of pop, dream pop, and indie rock which he performed on tour, already taking him to the US, Latin America, Germany, and now, also to Barcelona. Take note, as this artist has already performed at festivals such as Berlin's Lollapalooza or the Primavera Sound in Santiago de Chile and Buenos Aires.
Como me encanta, Siente más, Te quiero tanto (How I love, Feel more, I love you so much) or Paris Texas are just some of the songs on the new album, which the musician will surely perform in Barcelona. They are songs composed by Kaarl, except Cuéntame una historia de rencor (Tell me a grudge story), produced with the Spanish musician Pablo Díaz-Reixa El Guincho.
With the themes of Paris Texas, surely you can also listen to the theme Mis compas tan aquí, a single that was released in July this year and that is, right now, one of the most popular songs from the artist.
