‘Orgull de Baix’, a webdoc about the Baix Llobregat

Production company Al Pati will harness the potential of online audiovisual to give voice to the region.

A classic documentary for television and an interactive webdoc for the internet. This is the proposal that the production company Al Pati is developing with the 'Orgull de Baix', an initiative that received aid for investments in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from the Direcció de Creativitat i Innovació de l’Institut de Cultura de Barcelona.

'El Pati del Darrere' (The backyard) is the name of the documentary whose production has been carried out with Televisió de Catalunya. A work that highlights the landscape of the Baix Llobregat, its rich agricultural land and the real estate speculation that it lived through, but also the strength and pride of its people, although the region has often become the junkyard of Barcelona.

A protest piece that will be complemented through the internet with 'Orgull de Baix', the webdoc that will allow the user to take a close look at the knowledge of agricultural and ecological values of the region. A proposal "attached to an interactive map prepared to host audio and video content, and a website where there will be a number of activities to galvanise the public and the creation of a community that will be brought together using social networks," said Al Pati.

Thus the audiovisual piece becomes a more complex project, which goes beyond the mere disclosure or entertainment, creating a community. "The project harnesses the potential of the story and its protagonists to build an interactive and participative space which will help to give visibility, appreciation and knowledge of the Baix Llobregat, and to improve their relationship with the citizens of Barcelona".

The project received a grant of 5,349 euros from the Department of Creativity and Innovation to help in its production.
