Poblenou Open Workshops

Poblenou Open Workshops return for neighbourhood’s ’festa major’

More than 20 spaces will be open over 4 days, with workshops to learn about what they do.

Poblenou is one of Barcelona’s most artistic neighbourhoods. Many old warehouses and industrial buildings in the area were abandoned and gradually taken over by creative types, creating an extremely powerful art scene covering all sorts of disciplines. To learn a bit more about where these activities take place, the Festa Major de Poblenou will once again this year feature the Poblenou Open Workshops. Over 4 days, more than 20 centres will open their doors to show visitors how they work in close proximity and through constant sharing in their own creative hubs. There will be many different options, including industrial art, music, painting, design, dance and research. By visiting these spaces, you can discover the workshops of more than 150 artists, including stable residents and guests.

The Poblenou Open Workshops will take place on 12, 13, 14 and 15 September at various times, depending on the space. Plus, as has become tradition, the workshops will offer a wide range of cultural activities, including hands-on workshops, exhibitions and presentations of artwork, live music, DJ parties, projections and guided tours, among others. The activities open to visitors of all ages and some are particularly suitable for the little ones.

Most of the activities are free, although some may require participants to pay for materials. The full programme is available on the Poblenou Open Workshops website.
