‘Si estiguéssim soles a l’univers, seria una gran pèrdua d’espai’

The Big Bouncers are back with 'Si estiguéssim soles a l’univers, seria una gran pèrdua d’espai'

In this work, they continue developing the stage language generated in ‘Big Bounce’.

The Big Bouncers collective takes the stage again to share, convey, develop and expand on what they achieved with their first piece ‘Big Bounce’. The style of dance they are known for once again comes to life in Si estiguéssim soles a l’univers, seria una gran pèrdua d’espai (If we are alone in the universe, it would be a great waste of space), in which they revisit, reinvent and squeeze the most out of the materials they created in previous works to play with them again. The piece itself is an explosion on stage, with twice the number of performers, which multiplies the options for creating new imaginaries with bodies that transform, mutate, change and generate new realities and memories. The whole work focuses on the idea that there are parallel universes, and questions the concept of origin. It continues on in the same line as the first piece, which looked at the theory that suggests we could be living in the first universe, but also in the two-millionth. For this performance, the Big Bouncers have challenged themselves to create a larger-format piece post haste, with daring artists and fresh ideas.

They will be performing ‘Si estiguéssim soles a l’univers, seria una gran pèrdua d’espai’ on 13 and 14 April, at 7 pm and 6 pm, respectively. It is at the Mercat de les Flors Casa de la Dansa, a perfect venue for this show. The Big Bouncers group was established in 2012 by Cecilia Colacrai, Anna Rubirola and Mireia de Querol, born out of a research group exploring new stage languages.
