Guided tour at the Casa Amatller and the photographic studio of Antoni Amatller with Singular Houses

The photographic studio of Antoni Amatller

The tour of the Casa Amatller with Singular Houses will include a visit to the photo studio, located on the 4th floor.

Last August, the Singular Houses project resumed visits to the Casa Museo Amatller, a building where Antoni Amatller i Costa and his daughter Teresa lived. These months of March and April, the visits will take you around the house, which preserves the original furniture and art collections, and, as a novelty, will offer you the opportunity to go up to the 4th floor, where you will find the photographic studio of Antoni Amatller, an amateur traveling photographer who commissioned Puig i Cadafalch this small space in the remodelling of the building. The visit will also take you to the main floor of the building.

Antoni Amatller i Costa was the successor of the Chocolates Amatller factory at a very early time: at the age of 19 he was already training abroad, visiting several Swiss and French chocolate factories. But as well as being an entrepreneur, Antoni Amatller also devoted himself to travel photography: he toured Morocco, Istanbul and Egypt with a camera in hand and also took part in various amateur photographer competitions. The small study on the 4th floor of the Casa Amatller bears witness to this.

Visits are priced at 29 euros, although during the winter of 2021, the price is 18 euros. Visits take place on March 7 and 21 and April 4 in Catalan and Spanish. You can buy your tickets through this link.
