The start of La Bordeta festa major
The neighbourhood’s summer festivity is set to fill the Bordeta neighbourhood with a range of activities from 30 August to 11 September
The festivities in Sants may be over until next year, but in other Barcelona neighbourhoods it’s still time for open-air festivities. And now, it’s time for the Festa Major del barri de la Bordeta, a neighbourhood that grew around the old road linking Sants and Sant Boi de Llobregat. This fiesta is really four celebrations in one: each of the spaces involved designs its own events, culminating in a common celebration in Plaça de Celestina Vigneaux, complete with food tastings, popular culture and dances from around the world.
The fiesta activities are scheduled to take place in Plaça del Fènix and Plaça de Súria and in Carrers dels Jocs Florals, Carrer Baix and Carrer d'11 de Juny (organised, in the latter case, by Can Batlló). Concerts, games for kids, open-air eatings, dances, folklore parades… In summary, the fiesta has something for all ages and tastes.
