Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf have a conversation in Susana Sheiman's new show

The singer is presenting her new show at Jamboree alongside musicians Xavier Algans, Pere Loewe, Carlos Morera and Xavier Hinojosa.

There will be a double concert by vocalist Susana Sheiman on Sunday, October 9, at Jamboree. She is introducing her new show, an original and suggesting proposal with distinctive sensibility that brings into dialogue songs made popular by Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf. The connection between these two extraordinaire voices of popular contemporary music is established, in the words of the people at Jamboree, by their lives, which are marked by turbulent times and in a context of great social and political changes, especially in Europe and the U.S. On stage, next to Sheiman, there will be Xavier Algans (keyboard), Pere Loewe (bass), Carlos Morera (bandoneon) and Xavier Hinojosa (drums).

Born in Madrid in 1973, Susana Sheiman is considered one of the most acclaimed voices and with the most international projection of Spanish jazz today. Linked from a very young age to different soul groups, when she settled in Barcelona in 2004, she fully dedicated herself to jazz and came into contact with some of the best musicians in the city, with whom she collaborated in groups such as the Barcelona Jazz Orquestra or on projects paying tribute to Duke Ellington. She has performed on many stages, such as the Palau de la Música, and performed in jazz festivals, such as the one in Terrassa and San Sebastián, as well as others in France and the U.S. She has done so accompanied by other jazzmen, including Frank Wess, Jesse Davis, Brad Leali, Nicholas Payton, Esteve Pi, Juan Carlos Calderón, Dani Alonso and Ignasi Terraza, among many others.

Concerts will start at 8pm and 10pm. The second session will be available online, too. Further information and tickets here
