Come and dance swing in Barcelona’s civic centres

Swing all year round

The civic centres of La Sedeta, Sant Andreu, Torre Llobeta and Can Basté organise open-air swing dance parties.

If you like swing dancing, Barcelona won’t disappoint you, as all year long you’ll find dance floors free of charge so you can get your body moving. If you can’t wait to start, the next swing dance party is on Saturday, 29 February at 12.00 pm in Centre Cívic Can Basté. If you keep an eye on its website, you’ll see the musical events held in Plaça de Can Basté. The next event organised by Centre Cívic La Sedeta, the Matinal de swing (Swing Morning), will take place in Plaça de la Sedeta less than a week later, on Sunday, 9 March at 12.00 pm. The event is organised every second Sunday of the month.

However, if you prefer the Lindy Hop style, Centre Cívic Torre Llobeta invites you to Espai de swing on 14 March at 7.00 pm. These ‘Swing Spaces’ are held on the third Saturday of every month and are led by Xavi Bernal. Centre Cívic Sant Andreu joins in the dancing on Saturday 4 April, when it will turn Plaça Orfila into a dance floor. From 12.00 pm onwards, there will be an open class for anyone who wants to learn. And there’s no need to worry if you miss it because the event is held once a month!

If you love dancing so much that swing isn’t enough for you, you can carry on moving your body in the salsa classes held in Can Clariana Cultural one Saturday a month at 11.00 am. The dates will appear on the websites, so don’t forget to check them out.
