Thirty Years of Emerging Art in Guinardó

Young creators take center stage at Stripart.

With twenty-nine previous editions backing it, Stripart has established itself as one of Barcelona’s most important showcases for emerging artistic creativity. Curious to see what visual arts, theatre, music, and performance look like in the 21st century? Come and find out.

The 30th edition of Stripart takes place at the Centre Cívic Guinardó from 27 June to 18 July, filling the space with artistic proposals and activities that embrace the many languages of contemporary art.

It all kicks off on 27 June, from 8:30 PM to 1 AM, with the opening night, where you can visit the main exhibition featuring 43 visual arts projects across two floors. Don’t miss the scenic experience Contes de l’aigua by Biel Sauret, the performance El que vam perdre al fang by Rosalia Ros, as well as contemporary dance and experimental theatre pieces. Late into the night, enjoy live electronic music by Sebastian Morell and experimental soundscapes by Kanno.

Over the following weeks, the festival continues with a variety of offerings about all topics, all related to creation: Workshops on diverse topics, from model-making to taxes and invoicing for artists, live music like Buski’s concert on 1 July, contemporary dance evenings on 8 July featuring Nàstia Donstova, Paula Sánchez, Matilde Casini, and La Déborde, a performance on migration and ageing by Blai Garo, and conceptual music by Sai Bella and more dance and theatre on 17 July by Paola Gay and Vlad Ion.

Among the more daring proposals is La petite mort on 3 July, a bold piece by Enric Lizano described as "the cruel burial of a young body that mutilates itself insatiably on stage in order to accept its wrinkles, the smell of age, the passage of time." Then, on 15 July, Leo Perene presents Enxoval, a multisensory performance imagining possible futures through overlapping visuals, textures, sounds, and movement. That same day, Humancía stages Fragile, a contemporary dance piece reflecting on our human vulnerability.

If you want a glimpse into the art of tomorrow, come to Stripart—but first, check out the full program on the festival website and reserve your spots.
