Barcelona Guitar Trio pays tribute to Paco de Lucía

The three guitarists will also play pieces by Isaac Albéniz, Manuel de Falla and Chick Corea at Palau de la Música.

Francisco Sánchez Gómez (1947-2014), better known as Paco de Lucía, was one of the greatest flamenco guitarists in history. He was one of the first to incorporate percussion into this genre, allowing him to evolve and move away from the more classical style. The 2004 Prince of Asturias Award winner in the Arts got his start in 1973 with his album Fuente y cabal, becoming internationally renowned as one of the best guitar players. The Barcelona Guitar Trio, a band of three virtuosos in this instrument, is bringing their Tribute to Paco de Lucía back to the city, after resounding success in previous years. The concert will feature works by renowned composers Isaac Albéniz and Manuel de Falla, jazz pianist Chick Corea and, of course, Paco de Lucía.

Manuel González, Xavier Coll and Luis Robisco, the three guitarists that make up Barcelona Guitar Trio, will give us an exciting taste of their virtuosity and force, in a unique experience at one of the most well-loved venues in the city: Palau de la Música Catalana. On stage, they will be accompanied by percussionist Paquito Escudero. Tribute to Paco de Lucía will be on at 10:30 pm on 18 May and at 9 pm on 29 June.

Tickets cost between €39 and €45, depending on the seat. You can get them on the Palau de la Música website.
