Dirt road to get to Sant Pere Mártir, Collserola.

Two excursions through Collserola

A couple of routes in the largest green area of Barcelona to enjoy its places and spectacular views.

The Collserola mountain range is one of the main green areas surrounding the city of Barcelona. This mountain range is a green lung for the city and offers a wide range of possibilities to enjoy nature. The Centre Cívic L'Elèctric, a facility in the Vallvidrera area, is offering the routes The shady and sunny side of Collserola and Collserola from the heights  on Saturday 6 May and Friday 12 May, respectively. These are initiatives to observe and get to know the city and the mountains from a different point of view.

Forests are of vital importance for large cities, as they act as climate regulators and counteract the excessive emissions caused by them. During these two routes, you will enter the wooded areas of Collserola and understand their importance. On the first route, you will walk in the company of the biologist, writer and science writer Rafa López Martin, who will explain all the details of your surroundings. This circular route will take you through the shady side of the sierra where pines, holm oaks and oaks coexist. You will pass by the Rector spring until you reach the Sant Pere Màrtir and d'en Corts viewpoints to observe two panoramic views from different perspectives. You will then pass the Vallvidrera reservoir and finish at the Baixador de Vallvidrera station of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya.

On the other route, Collserola from the heights, you'll take a walk along the mountain range, culminating in a climb to a viewpoint where you'll be able to see the whole city of Barcelona. This way you'll discover the city from a different perspective and you'll get closer to nature as you stroll through its forests and along its paths.
