Take a breather in La Virreina

The digital resources of La Virreina Centre de la Imatge offer you the chance to recover a wide selection of exhibitions and other resources.

Like many museums, La Virreina Centre de la Imatge has a digital file that not only contains past photography exhibitions, it also has public programmes which have been recorded and can easily be retrieved. These videos of presentations of exhibitions and publications, debates, conferences, workshops and many others are found in the website’s ‘Resources’ section. You can filter the results among the resources that belong to exhibitions, different activities and research of images. However, if you prefer to follow the criteria of experts, every day they propose a video on La Virreina Twitter account.

The centre also has some online exhibitions with all the information you need for revisiting them. They combine audio-visual supports, images and text so you can enjoy them at your leisure. You can see ‘Mean Streets’ again, an exhibition from 2017 that searches for anthropological significance in the relationship between cinema and the city; or ‘The Struggle of Women in Precarious Barcelona’, produced in 2018, on the entry of women into the employment market, rooted in the labour model of capitalism that took shape in the 1980s.

The entire content of La Virreina is available with just a click. You can find what you’re looking for by either using the website’s search tool or just browse through the page at your own pace. Whatever you decide, you’ll be sure to find something that inspires you.
