“La Fàbrica en Obert”

An avalanche of activities at Fabra i Coats

Fàbrica de Creació i Centre d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona is celebrating the Festa Major de Sant Andreu with a huge open day and much, much more.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Fabra i Coats - Fàbrica de Creació i Centre d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona is one of the cultural epicentres of Sant Andreu, so it’s no surprise that they’re celebrating the neighbourhood’s Festa Major [Local Festival] in the best way possible. They are constantly organising activities connected with all kinds of art and creation. That’s why they wanted to show us what they do and how they do it with a huge open day and an avalanche of activities with an audio-visual reading, an exhibition, an interdisciplinary festival, an evening of concerts and a cinema festival. They've named it “La Fàbrica en Obert” (The Open Factory).

This will all run from 29 November to 8 December at Fabra i Coats - Fàbrica de Creació i Centre d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona. The open day, which is the focal point of the programme, will be full of tours around the centre’s installations, where you’ll get the chance to speak with some of the resident artists there. There will also be a stroll through the green spaces and the sound landscapes of Sant Andreu, as well as the Espai Zero installation about green resistances to weave together the neighbourhood and the museum. On the same day, there will be contemporary art festival Exploding Fest, which is running for the 5th time. There will be things happening on other days too, such as 29 November, when there’ll be a performative talk by Núria Gómez, a day of concerts on 4 December, and the weekend of 7-8 December young people can go to a cinema festival thought out especially for them: Reteena. What’s more, on 19 January, you’ll have the chance to see the exhibition “Un dia em vaig creuar amb un meteorit” (One Day I Came Across a Meteorite).

Most of the activities are free, except for some in Reteena. You can find all the information on the Fabra i Coats website.
