The Visual Arts Celebration is Here

The Setmana de l’Art (Art Week) celebrates its third edition with various activities throughout Catalonia, organised by Galeries d’Art de Catalunya (GAC).

An immersion in art across the territory awaits you with guided visits, guest artists, exhibitions, workshops, and screenings at the third edition of Setmana de l’Art, an initiative driven by Galeries d’Art de Catalunya (GAC) taking place from November 23rd to December 1st.

The initiative aims to bring modern and contemporary art closer to the entire population, reaching new audiences while highlighting and creating connections between entities dedicated to art in Catalonia.

The program includes a diverse range of proposals in Lleida, Girona, Tarragona, and Barcelona, offering various art-related activities in the city. You'll have the opportunity to take two guided tours with ArtBus, with exhibitions dedicated to female artists, the first one between the Suñol Foundation and Imaginart Gallery, and the second between Disseny Hub Barcelona and Il·lacions Gallery. Guided visits to the exhibition "Teatro" by Miguel Peña at Sala Dalmau, "Som aquí. Les dones en el disseny 1900-avui" at Disseny Hub Barcelona, "Andar con el río" by Eva Lootz at the Suñol Foundation, and an olfactory guided tour of Casa Vicens are also on the agenda. Additionally, you can explore exhibitions curated by Elina Norandi at Imaginart Gallery and Menene Gras Balaguer at Casa Vicens. Don't forget about the "Visites inesperades" at Museu Can Framis by Fundació Vila Casas, where you'll discover six artworks that have infiltrated the permanent collection route.

There will also be presentations by guest artists such as Artur Aguilar at Galería A34, Ana de Matos at Artur Ramon Art, Pere Belles at Galería Atelier, Víctor Pérez-Porro at Villa del Arte Galleries, Jordi Tolosa at Galería Guntrian, and Silvia Japkin at Galería Rubén Torres. Three exhibitions will be inaugurated, including the one dedicated to Antoni Tàpies at Galería A34, "Barcelona abstracta" at Galería Matiz, and "Projecte Untiteled" by artist Julieta Ansalas at Galería Rubén Torres.

But that's not all, as you can enjoy the performance of Élan d’Orphiuma at the Fundación Joan Brossa-Centro de las Artes Libres as part of the "Other Trash: stop theatre" exhibition, along with the presentation and screening of the documentary "Close to Vermeer" at the Dart (Documentary Film Festival on Contemporary Art). Additionally, if you're a drawing enthusiast, you can participate in a creative workshop at Casa Vicens with Daniel Pagans. And there will be music with a concert by Maria Pascual and Miguel Gistau at Galería Jordi Pascual.

Feel free to indulge in the offerings of Setmana de l’Art with a schedule created by Galeries d’Art de Catalunya (GAC). Session timings vary depending on the activities, as does the entry fee, although many activities are free. For more information, you can check the Setmana de l’Art website.
