The City Police took part in a multiple inspection of different establishments in the Jardins de la Mediterrània, in the neighbourhood of La Marina de Port, the goal being to improve coexistence, ensure respectful behaviour and strengthen security.

The operation allowed for coordinated action by multidisciplinary teams, with the City Police working in conjunction with the Mossos d’Esquadra, the National Police, the Barcelona Public Health Agency (ASPB), Labour Inspections (Spanish and Catalan governments), the Municipal Institute for Tax and the Directorate for Inspection Services in the District of Sants-Montjuïc.

The operation detected 95 infringements in 14 premises, with 37 linked to operating licences, 28 to waste and 12 to public health. For its part, the ASPB sealed off two establishments for precarious hygiene.

Eighteen months ago the District already worked with a greater City Police presence in the area, adding extra cleaning services, a more restrictive regulation of terraces and delimitation of spaces, with fines for several establishments and repeated infringements.

With this multiple inspection the City Council can task a multidisciplinary team with carrying out an intensive and well-planned inspection, exemplifying interadministrative collaboration.
