“Unknown dimensions: theatre, science fiction and fantasy genres”
A musician and a few actors have been given a task: the closing ceremony of a science-fiction literary festival. The idea is to deliver a few readings accompanied by live music. A few playwrights are also expected to join in. Authors who ought to be attending but who no one knows whether they’ll turn up or have taken a wrong turn into some unknown dimension on the way to the festival . These are the sorts of things that happen when you make the mistake of delving too deeply into uncertain genres. What place do science fiction, fantasy genre and horror take up in the theatre? How does speculative or futuristic fiction sound on stage? Are there fantasy genres in the theatre? What are the aspects of these genres in playwriting on our shores? Are they still unknown dimensions?
We invite you to find out with the appearances and disappearances of Oriol Genís, Júlia Genís, Sergi Belbel, Jordi Casanovas, Victòria Szpunberg, Marc Rosich, Ariadna Chillida, Pau de Nut and Helena Tornero.
