Albert Pijuan

Albert Pijuan, born in Calafell in 1985, is a novelist, playwright and translator who holds degrees in political science and philosophy. His published works include the novel El franctirador [The Sniper], the short story collection Seguiràs el ritme del fantasma jamaicà [You Will Follow the Rhythm of the Jamaican Ghost], the unclassifiable Ramon Llull. Ara i aquí [Ramon Llull. Here and Now], Tsunami (winner of the Pin i Soler, Finestres and Critics’ Prizes), the essay Per què no repensem el canibalisme? [Why Don’t We Rethink Cannibalism?], the young adult novel I diumenge, meteorit [And on Sunday, a Meteorite] – winner of the 2024 Llibreter Prize – and La Gran Substitució [The Great Replacement], winner of the 2025 Crexells Prize. He has published and premièred around twenty plays, several of which have enjoyed international success. His translations include works by Evelyn Waugh, Dalton Trumbo, Lara Williams and H. G. Wells.
