Ciruelo, born in Buenos Aires in 1963, is a fantasy artist best known for his depictions of dragons. Since 1987, he has worked with leading publishers in Europe and the United States. His art has been published worldwide, appearing on book covers, calendars, Magic: The Gathering cards, posters and puzzles. His clients include George Lucas, Steve Vai, Christopher Paolini and Alejandro Jodorowsky, with whom he created a comic in 2006. Ciruelo continues to work using traditional techniques, particularly oil on canvas, and currently lives in Sitges, where he writes and illustrates his own books.
