Ramiro Sanchiz

Ramiro Sanchiz, born in Montevideo in 1978, is a writer, essayist and translator. He has published 21 novels to date, including Krautrock and Un pianista de provincias [A Provincial Pianist], as well as essays such as Matrix acelerada [Accelerated Matrix] and David Bowie, posthumanismo sónico [David Bowie: Sonic Posthumanism]. His work has appeared in numerous anthologies, including Cabezas en la ventana: Antología de terror latinoamericana [Heads at the Window: A Latin American Horror Anthology], La existencia está en otra parte [Existence Is Elsewhere], Herederos de dos culturas [Heirs of Two Cultures] and El tercer mundo después del sol [The Third World After the Sun]. His latest novel, Los acontecimientos [The Events], is set on an abandoned oil platform where strange phenomena unfold in a near future shaped by irreversible climate change.
